Amsterdam Institute of Finance
- professionals in the transfer of financial knowledge
Amsterdam Institute of Finance (AIF) is a self-supporting, not-for-profit foundation, specialized in providing high-level financial training for finance professionals. AIF's status as an independent institution enables faculty to be selected from internationally renowned business schools such as INSEAD, IMD, Wharton, Harvard and NYU. Participants in AIF courses have the advantage of learning from the world's leading experts who have significant teaching as well as consulting experience.
AIF was established in Amsterdam in 1990 as an initiative of the Dutch financial community. Since then, AIF has built a strong presence worldwide for its Executive Education, through open enrollment and company specific courses. In 2007, over 1,000 professionals from 50 countries and 289 companies participated in AIF courses. In Amsterdam, more than 45 open enrollment courses are offered annually, with a regular faculty base of 35+ members.
In 2008 – 2009, AIF is expanding its global reach through a number of open enrollment courses being planned in partnership with the international CFA Institute. The first of these courses was held in Dubai in January 2008. Additional courses are being scheduled to take place in South Africa, Europe, South America and again in the Middle East.
AIF is also launching two new 1-year programs in risk management in 2009: Financial Risk Control, in partnership with House of Finance at the Goethe University Frankfurt, and an Executive Master of Science in Risk Management, in partnership with New York University Stern School of Business.
AIF is committed to provide financial training that consistently meets or exceeds international industry standards. CFA Institute recognizes AIF as an approved provider of professional development programs, and the DSI (Dutch Securities Institute) includes a number of AIF courses in their professional training programs. Additionally, AIF is a PRMIA (Professional Risk Managers' International Association) partner for seminars and financial training.
In the MENA region, AIF is partnering with Hawkamah, the Institute for Corporate Governance in Dubai, to actively promote and improve corporate governance practices.
