Akbank makes senior appointment

Last Updated June 30, 2010

IR and CSR head becomes vice chairman.

Akbank, Turkey’s largest bank, has appointed a new vice chairman after Zafer Kurtul left the organisation to become chief executive of holding group Sabancı.

Hayri Çulhaci, an existing member of the bank’s executive board, takes up his new position on 19 July.

The new vice chairman joined Akbank in 1990 after serving as a department head in the Ministry of Finance. In March last year he was elected to the executive board with a brief to head the bank’s investor relations, corporate communications and corporate social responsibility departments.
