EIB funds upgrade of Polish waterworks

Bank backs Kraków infrastructure with €73mn loan.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has lent PLN330mn (€73.7mn) to finance the development of Kraków’s water and wastewater infrastructure.

The loan will support the 2009-2013 investment programme of Kraków’s Municipal Water Supply and Wastewater Treatment Company, which focuses on extension and modernisation of the city’s water production and treatment plants, water supply network, sewage system and wastewater treatment plant.

Since 2007, EIB the EIB has lent €1.2bn to Polish municipalities, utility companies and regions.
