Troika Dialog, Russia’s oldest and largest private investment bank, has appointed Kanako Sekine as managing director and COO of Troika Capital Partners, the bank’s private equity arm. As COO, Sekine will be particularly focused on increasing the scope of capital collected from international investors for investment within the Russian private equity market. Additionally, she will oversee day-to-day operations, encompassing portfolio management as well as all areas of legal and financial administration.

Before joining Troika Dialog, Sekine was director of the financial institutions team of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where she was a leading architect in the development of the EBRD’s in-house fund of private equity programmes – now one of the most comprehensive private equity portfolios focusing on the emerging markets of Europe. In addition to managing the private equity portfolio, Sekine served the boards of Russia’s National Registry Company, CSOB in the Czech Republic, and SKB Banka in Slovenia.
Established in 2005, Troika Capital Partners is ranked as one of the three best Russian fund managers by Private Equity International, and currently has over US$900mn under management.
