HSBC appoints new senior manager in Qatar

HSBC Bank Middle East Qatar has appointed a new senior manager for its Qatar office. Jody Sanderson was appointed as director, global banking in Qatar. Sanderson has extensive experience in global corporate banking including over 13 years in banking and finance with HSBC in Asia and North America.

Sanderson spent three years in Hong Kong in the bank's Asia Pacific multinational coverage team and most recently was with HSBC in Canada where he headed the multinational and larger corporate coverage group.

In Qatar, he will lead the bank's corporate client coverage group which includes the multinationals, financial institutions and government related clients. Sanderson has a strong background in working with globally focused organisations.

Regarding his appointment, Sanderson says: “Qatar has been and will continue to be a highly important market for HSBC and one where many opportunities will exist for our clients. I see this as a great opportunity to work in one of the fastest growing economies globally and a place that is well positioned to withstand the current global economic challenges.”
