Calyon has announced the appointment of Jean-Francois Balay as head of global loan syndication group. He was appointed by Gilles de Dumast, deputy general manager, global head of coverage and investment banking and member of the executive committee.
Balay started his career in 1989 at Credit Lyonnais and has successfully occupied managing positions in commercial and corporate finance activities in London, Paris and Asia. In 2001, he joined the loan syndication team of Credit Lyonnais as head of origination for Western Europe and has been occupying this position throughout the merger within Calyon. Since 2006, he was deputy head for EMEA.
Coverage and investment banking (CIB) attends in France and abroad to the coverage of corporate and financial institution customers followed by coverage teams, as well as to investment banking, credit syndication, commercial banking and Islamic Finance activities.
