Exotix strengthens African equities team with four new hires.
Frontier and emerging-markets specialist Exotix has appointed a new head of equities and made three additions to its African equities team.
Ali Khalpey, the new head of equities, comes to the role from Renaissance Capital where he was a managing director and head of equities for Africa. His 17-year career has taken in stints at Investec and Blackrock.
Kato Mukuru takes over as senior financials analyst and head of equity research. He was previously a director and Middle East and Africa banking analyst at Citigroup Global Markets.
A new head of sales will join in the form of Sruti Patel. She joins from Standard Bank where she was a founding member of the African equity products platform.
Head of trading for Africa will henceforth be James Busch. Like Khalpey, he joins from Renaissance Capital where he was head of sub-Saharan African equity trading.
