Japanese investment bank hires new DCM director for Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Daiwa Capital Markets, the investment-banking division of Japan’s Daiwa Securities Group, has hired Bhavin Shah as a director in its debt capital markets (DCM) business.
Shah joins from Mizuho, where he spent nine years working in the debt syndicate and origination teams.
Based in London, Shah will be responsible for eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa coverage, as well as the UK and Ireland. He reports to Vince Purton, managing director and head of DCM at Daiwa Europe.
Daiwa dominated yen-denominated bond work in the emerging EMEA region last year, handling all three issuances, from Poland, Slovakia and Tunisia.
