Bank names new heads of global and European M&A.
Standard Chartered Bank has appointed Tom Willett as its global head of mergers and acquisitions (M&A). Willett takes the role on June 1 and takes over from Andrew Suckling who will be taking a 12 month sabbatical.
Willett joined Standard Chartered in 2012 as head of M&A for Europe. Prior to joining the bank, he held several senior positions, including chairman of corporate finance for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and global head of M&A at RBS.
In the new role, Willett will report to James Courtenay, global head of advisory and infrastructure finance at Standard Chartered.
Meanwhile, David Harvey-Evers will take over from Willett as head of M&A for Europe, joining the bank with more than 15 years in the industry with JP Morgan.
