Bahrain-based bank names new head of group compliance.
Bahrain’s Arab Banking Corporation has named Sharon Craggs its new head of group compliance.
Craggs joins the bank on August 1, moving from Standard Chartered bank in Singapore, where she worked for four years as head of compliance for southeast Asia.
She has also worked at JP Morgan in regional global markets compliance and DBS Bank as head of legal, compliance and secretariat.
Announcing her appointment, Sael Al Waary, executive vice-president and group chief operating officer at the bank, said: “As banks move forward with the implementation of Basel III and other regulatory changes, compliance is taking centre stage, and ABC is making sure all regulatory requirements are being met.”
