Bidders emerge for Polish airline

Reports suggest both airlines and financial buyers interested in Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT.

As Poland continues its privatisation programme, three bidders are understood to have emerged for Polskie Linie Lotnicze LOT, the national airline.

Press reports quote the Treasury Ministry as confirming that the potential bidders include at least one airline and one financial buyer. Market speculation suggests that Air France-KLM may be interested in a deal.

Last week Poland confirmed that it had raised PLN6.97bn through privatisations during 2009. The government aims to raise PLN36.7bn by the end of 2010.
