Alan Pullinger, who has been deputy CEO since April, will take over as CEO of Rand Merchant Bank. He replaces Michael Pfaff who will remain on the RMB divisional board until December.

Pullinger joined RMB special projects division in 1998 to focus on property and structured finance. He was co-head of both structured finance and the investment banking division and sits on the RMB management board and investment committee. He also sat on a number of external accounting industry committees and is a member of the Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) monitoring panel.

FirstRand Bank CEO Sizwe Nxasana says: “We are delighted to announce that Alan will lead RMB into the future and take the bank to the next level. Alan has an exceptional track record and is the perfect candidate to succeed Michael who took RMB to new heights both in terms of innovation and financial success.”
