Global boosts brokerage business in GCC

Global Investment House has appointed Khaled Abdel Rahman Khaled as senior vice-president to head the brokerage business in the gulf region.

Khaled has extensive experience in the stock markets. Before joining Global, Khaled was the executive general manager for the National Bank of Abu Dhabi brokerage arm. Before that, he was head of the operations sectors for the Egyptian stock exchange where he was in charge of market operations, surveillance, membership, market control, OTC, DR conversions and coding departments.

Before joining the Egyptian stock exchange, Khaled was director of the trading department at EFG-Hermes in Cairo, responsible for the execution of equities and bonds for both institutional and retail clients. He has also served in various capacities for the treasury and dealing room at Commercial International Bank (CIB).

His professional career has also seen him as an active participant in the establishment and enhancement of market practices and regulations including depositary receipts (DR) listings and conversion for local issuers, codes of corporate governance, intraday trading rules and regulations, disclosure rules, setting of circuit breakers and OTC trading rules and regulations. He was involved in the preparation of the unified code of corporate government for the Federation of Euro Asian Exchanges, and was panelist in many conferences related to the subject for emerging and developed markets.
