Citi banker to lead global team.

Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) has named Paul Simpson as its global treasury head.

Simpson takes this newly created position in May when he leaves Citi, where he is currently global head of treasury and trade in the transaction services group.

He will work closely with BAML’s commercial, corporate and investment banking executives to provide treasury services to large corporate and middle-market clients. He will also be responsible for trade finance, a key area for BAML’s banking, corporate and markets operations.

Simpson will work in New York and report to Paul Donofrio, head of global corporate banking, and David Darnell, president of global commercial banking.
