Dubai-based lender appoints corporate banking head.
Emirates Islamic Bank has appointed Yakub Bobat as its new head of corporate banking. He comes to the role from HSBC where he was global head of Amanah commercial banking. In this role he was responsible for driving Islamic finance strategy across the group and developing new markets, establishing Amanah Syariah in Indonesia in 2003 and Amanah Malaysia Berhad in 2008.
He has 25 years experience of both conventional and Islamic finance, having held senior positions in corporate, retail, institutional and investment banking.
