Citi has expanded its EMEA issuer services business by making two new appointments in Africa.

Ashey Aziz joins as head of business development, while Oladunni Olajide takes up the role of transaction manager in Nigeria.

Aziz, who will be based in Johannesburg, will drive growth in key African markets, such as South Africa, Nigeria and Kenya. He joins from BNY Mellon and has also gained experience at JPMorgan and HSBC.

Olajide, who has worked at HSBC and Standard Bank, is responsible for servicing key client transactions and supporting business development.

Citi’s head of global transaction services in Africa, Ade Ayeyemi, said strengthening the bank’s African business is important with the continent recognised as a growth region for issuer services.
