New private banking and retail head to drive growth.

Troika Dialog, a Russian investment company, has appointed Catherine Thibaut as head of its private banking and retail operations.

Thibaut is responsible for the strategic development of those practices and also oversees the firm’s wealth management division.

She took the role in November and is based in the firm’s Moscow office reporting to Igor Sagiryan, Troika Dialog’s managing director.

Sagiryan says it is more important than ever to support the bank’s private banking clients, who are increasingly looking to international markets. “Catherine’s track record, accrued over 15 years in privileged contacts with and within the industry, will be invaluable as we develop this offering.”

Thibaut says the firm has an ambitious growth strategy and that she is looking forward to building its international offering.

She joins from RBS Coutts in Geneva where she was executive vice-president for eastern and central Europe private banking. She has also held positions at ING Bank Switzerland and American Express, where she was chief executive of its Moscow-based bank.

Troika Dialog’s private banking business offers investment products, such as classic trust management portfolios, derivatives, structured products and non-traditional investment products including children’s education and supporting transactions related to purchasing works of art.
