Bourse receives permission from Capital Markets Authority to float shares on its own market.

The Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) is to list shares on its own market. The bourse has received permission from the Kenyan Capital Markets Authority to list on the Main Investment Markets Segment, the country’s primary exchange.

An announcement by the NSE has confirmed that up to 31% of the exchange’s authorised ordinary share capital will be offered up, with “Kenyans from all walks of life” encouraged to take part. The NSE will be the second African exchange to go public after the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
