Banks will co-brand research as part of new collaboration.
Africa’s Nedbank Capital has struck a deal with the Royal Bank of Scotland to share their equity research teams.
The research will be co-branded. Nedbank hopes that using RBS’s global distribution platform will help it to target the 40% trade on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange by offshore fund managers.
Simon Penney, head of RBS’s global banking and markets division for the Middle East and Africa, said: “Our strategic alliance with Nedbank means RBS clients benefit from the equities research of the Nedgroup Securities analysts into approximately 80 South African stocks, and a number of sub-Saharan listed companies, as part of RBS’s Global Emerging Markets product suite.”
