Investment banking arm of Daiwa Securities promotes Brown and names new fixed income co-heads.

Daiwa Capital Markets, the international investment banking arm of Japan’s Daiwa Securities Group, has promoted Christopher Brown to head of investment banking for Europe and the Middle East.

Brown has been with Daiwa for 13 years, working in London and Singapore, where he helped to grow Daiwa Capital Markets Europe’s Asian fixed income product.

Most recently, he was head of the firm’s fixed-income division. Daiwa’s debt syndication department, which Brown also runs, will now move from the fixed income division to the investment banking division.

Daiwa’s investment banking business was previously headed by Hiroki Ikeda, who became chief operating officer of Daiwa Capital Markets Europe in April.

Antony Baldwin and Tatsuji Nagano take over as joint heads of fixed income. Baldwin is currently deputy head of the division. Nagano joins the firm’s London office from Daiwa Securities in Tokyo, where he is currently head of international fixed income sales.
