Chairman and CEO of emerging-markets-focused investment bank steps down.

John Hyman is stepping down as chairman and co-CEO of Renaissance Capital, an emerging-markets-focused investment bank.

Hyman joined the firm in October 2011 to run investment banking, and took on his current role last November when Renaissance Capital separated from parent company Renaissance Group. He will remain as an adviser to the bank. Igor Vayn, previously co-CEO alongside Hyman, remains in the top post.

Separately, Renaissance Capital has announced that Benjamin Samuels has joined as global head of equities. Based in London, he’ll report to Vayn and will be responsible for managing and expanding the bank’s cash equities business. He joins the bank after 15 years with Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
