Russian bank’s private-equity arm sells 50% stake in telco seven months after buying business.
The private-equity division of Russia’s VTB Group has sold half of telecoms company Tele2Russia just seven months after buying the business.
The firm has offloaded a 50% stake in Tele2 Russia to what the team terms “strategic investors”, including Bank Rossiya and businesses linked to billionaire Alexey Mordashov.
Citigroup and VTB Capital advised VTB on the transaction.
