Pan-African lender to start investment-banking business following last year’s Iroko acquisition.

Ecobank Capital, the investment-banking division of pan-African firm Ecobank, has been granted a license by Kenya’s Capital Markets Authority. Its EBI Investment Corporation Kenya subsidiary will work in equity and debt capital markets, trade and commodity finance and corporate advisory.

The bank’s entry into Kenya follows its purchase of investment advisory firm Iroko Securities Kenya last July.
