Aid giants must admit ‘failure’ in dealing with fragile states with a huge gap between what needs fixing and what has been fixed.

High-level commission of politicians, development leaders, economists and investors has issued a stark warning to agencies and charities seeking to help so-called fragile states: nothing so farhas worked.

In a hard-hitting report published in June 2018, the Commission on State Fragility, Growth and Development said that after decades of aid, many of these countries are as poor as they ever were, and arguably poorer.
