The acquisition includes five wind farms and two solar plants in Egypt and Jordan, totaling more than 400MW.

In late August, China Three Gorges South Asia Investment (CSAIL) finalised its acquisition of the Middle Eastern wind and solar company Alcazar Energy Partners. Headquartered in Dubai, Alcazar Energy Partners is one of the largest independent renewables companies in the MENA region. The acquisition gives CSAIL the chance to extend its business geographically, and lays a foundation for further expansion.

Daniel Calderon, co-founder and CEO of Alcazar Energy Partners, describes CSAIL as a ‘class act’.
