Multilateral development bank hires former World Bank VP to oversee policy.

The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has appointed Philippe Le Houérou as its vice-president of policy, starting on January 12, 2015.

In his new role, Le Houérou will coordinate strategies, policies and other initiatives supporting the EBRD’s transition mandate.

Le Houérou has 30 years of experience in international finance, development, partnerships and policy. Before joining the EBRD he was the World Bank’s regional vice-president for South Asia. Other roles he held while with the World Bank include regional vice-president for Europe and Central Asia.
