Grinnell joins BarCap EMEA team

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has appointed Matt Grinnell, managing director, as head of financial sponsors within its investment banking division, EMEA. This appointment continues the expansion of Barclays Capital’s sector coverage within its Investment banking business globally.

Grinnell will head up the financial sponsors sector team for IBD EMEA and will work hand-in-hand with the country coverage and global sector teams to provide full coverage to financial sponsors clients. He will be based in London reporting to Kevin Wall, head of corporate finance, EMEA based in London and John Miller, managing director, head of global financial sponsors based in New York.

Grinnell was co-head of European financial sponsor coverage at Nomura. Before joining the financial sponsor coverage team in 2006 he spent eight years working for the media and communications group at Lehman Brothers in New York, where he covered a wide spectrum of US communications clients. Grinnell spent one year at Deutsche Bank, joining in 1997, after starting his career at EK Investment Banking in 1994, both positions were based in Hong Kong.
