Accenture acquires Mudano

Global consulting firm Accenture is pursuing an ambitious expansion strategy within critical growth areas. Mudano, a data consultancy supporting UK financial services firms, will boost its offering in analytics and artificial intelligence.

In February, Accenture announced that it was acquiring Mudano, a strategic data consultancy that helps UK financial services firms transform the way they use data. Founded in 2014, Mudano applies its analytics tools within areas like fraud prevention. It has a presence in London and Edinburgh.

The Mudano team will be joining Accenture’s Applied Intelligence Group, which employs some 20,000 professionals across the globe, including 6,000 data scientists and artificial intelligence (AI) experts. In recent months, the Group has embarked on something of an M&A spree, acquiring Clarity Insights, Pragsis Bidoop and Analytics8. This has boosted its footprint in the US, Spain and Australia respectively.

“Accenture acquired Mudano to build on our strong capabilities in data and artificial intelligence,” George Marcotte, a managing director at Accenture’s Applied Intelligence Group in the UK and Ireland, tells EMEA Finance. “Mudano’s suite of data solutions, coupled with deep industry expertise, will further enhance our ability to meet growing client demand in the financial services space.”
