Mike du Toit to lead Liberty’s operations in East Africa following demerger.

Standard Bank has named Mike du Toit as the head of its insurance business in East Africa, the bank has confirmed.

The former managing director of CfC Stanbic is the new regional head of Liberty East Africa, which handles CfC Life, Heritage Kenya and Tanzania as well as Liberty Uganda.

The move follows the demerger of CfC Stanbic's insurance businesses from the banking and investment banking arms that will now see the formation of CfC Insurance Holdings to oversee the insurance businesses.

Glen Brackenridge has since taken over du Toit’s old position at CfC Stanbic, which is also part of the Standard Bank Group.
