New head of wholesale banking joins from Dubai Bank.
Emirates NBD has named Giel-Jan Van Der Tol as group head of wholesale banking.
He joins from Emirates NBD’s subsidiary Dubai Bank, where he was chief executive.
Van Der Tol has been replaced at Dubai Bank on an interim basis by Douwe Oppedijk, a former chief executive of Commercial Bank International.
Emirates NBD has more than 140 retail branches in the UAE and in the year to October 2011 its assets were valued at AED271.9bn (US$74bn).
