Al-Binali to support Dubai lender’s expansion plans.

Gulf Finance, a Dubai-based consumer lender, has named Dr Sabah Hamad al-Sabah al-Binali as its vice chairman.

Al-Binali takes up his post at Gulf Finance, a subsidiary of investment bank Shuaa Capital, with immediate effect.

He joins the board at a time when it intends to expand the business in Saudi Arabia and diversify its lending portfolio.

Al-Binali was appointed due to his experiences of establishing and managing financial services companies in the Middle East. These have included spending three years as founding managing director of Credit Suisse Saudi Arabia and acting as co-founder and chief investment officer of financial services company Saffar.
