UK head takes charge of EMEA wealth advisory team.
JP Morgan has promoted the head of its UK wealth advisory practice to lead its team focusing on EMEA.
Paul Knox was offered the role following Gavin Leckie’s promotion to lead the bank’s new cross-border wealth advisory team focusing on multi-jurisdictional clients.
Knox reports to Debra Treyz, global head of wealth advisory, and Pablo Garnica, chief executive of JP Morgan’s private bank in EMEA.
Garnica says Knox’s experience of onshore and offshore planning will be needed in his new role. “EMEA is a particularly diverse and challenging region for wealth advisory, given its mix of developed and developing markets, as well as its multiple legal, tax and regulatory regimes.”
Knox joined JP Morgan four years ago with 25 years of experience at the London bar and Ernst & Young, where he was responsible for the firm’s private client services group in London. While at the firm he founded its international private wealth group.
As part of Knox’s responsibilities he will continue to oversee the bank’s UK wealth advisory operation.
