Bank’s securities services division brings Bernardo from Moscow to Jo’burg to become South Africa country head.
Societe Generale Securities Services (SGSS) has appointed Jean-Louis Bernardo as country head for South Africa.
Bernardo has been with SGSS since 2000, first as a product manager in the sales and relationship management team before becoming deputy head of the firm in Spain in 2007. He then oversaw the launch of the firm’s custody platform in Egypt in 2009 and since 2011 has been deputy head of SGSS in Russia.
Now based in Johannesburg, Bernardo reports to Philippe Huerre, the firm’s head of international development. He replaces Bertrand Blanchard, who has been appointed country manager for the United Kingdom.
