Crédit Agricole CIB and UniCredit take stakes in enlarged equity brokerage business.

Kepler Capital Markets, a financial adviser with offices in Europe and the US, has acquired Crédit Agricole Cheuvreux.

The deal creates a new firm, Kepler Cheuvreux, which the buyer says will be Europe’s leading local equity brokerage business, covering 700 stocks.

Crédit Agricole CIB and UniCredit have taken stakes in the enlarged company; Crédit Agricole CIB has a shareholding of 15% while UniCredit takes a 5% stake.
