New appointments target private equity clients.

Citi has expanded its private equity services capabilities for investment managers and investors in EMEA.

The bank has promoted Kamran Anwar to product head for the region and established a client service team in Dublin to strengthen the service it provides to private equity clients.

Joe Patellaro, Citi’s global head of private equity services, says Anwar’s experience of several markets, governments and client segments will be “critical” as the bank expands its private equity services in EMEA.

Anwar has held a variety of roles since joining Citi in 1993, including leading strategy and planning for its Middle East operations and head of M&A advisory, where he worked with several private equity firms across EMEA.

Andrew Gelb, Citi’s head of securities and fund services in EMEA, says: “Kamran’s appointment formalises our on-the-ground operating model in this important region, which offers considerable growth potential for our private equity services.”
