Emerging Capital Partners (ECP), an Africa-focused private equity firm, has named Andrew Brown as its chief investment officer.

Based in Paris, Brown will oversee and implement ECP’s investment process and strategy across its six funds.

He also joins the investment committee of ECP Africa Fund III, which has already made four investments in the financial services, industrials and telecom/cable TV sectors since its closing in June last year.

Brown has 13 years of African private equity experience having started his career at CDC in 1998. He joins ECP from Amundi Private Equity (formerly Société Générale Asset Management Alternative Investments), where he was head of investment for its North Africa-focused Kantara Fund.
