New appointment strengthens Russian bank’s M&A expertise.

Troika Dialog, a Russian investment bank, has appointed Sergei Khaliullin as a director in its mergers and acquisitions (M&A) execution team.

Khaliullin joins from Alfa-Bank, where he was director of corporate finance covering M&A and equity market transactions in the consumer, retail, transport and IT sectors.

This is the latest senior appointment by Troika Dialog since it announced last year that it was to be bought by Sberbank, Russia’s largest bank. Other recent hires include Steve Kale as managing director and head of equity syndicate and Dimitri Casvigny as managing director and head of industrials.

Khaliullin brings more than a decade of global experience to the bank having worked in Germany, the UK and Russia. His previous roles have included a vice-president post at Merrill Lynch as well as time at Renaissance Capital and Goldman Sachs.

He now reports to Dirk Werner, managing director and head of M&A execution.
