Invest AD sees upturn in MENA opportunities

Abu Dhabi-based firm hires new head of sales to capitalise on investor interest.

Invest AD, an Abu Dhabi financial services company, says it expects greater numbers of global investors to turn to the Middle East and North Africa for investment opportunities.

In the past six months, the company has created four listed equities funds, covering the UAE, the Gulf, MENA and emerging Africa. It has also launched a US$400mn private equity fund, and has formed a joint venture infrastructure fund with UBS.

The company has hired Jackie Fitzgerald as its new head of sales to help introduce global investors to regional opportunities. In a statement, Fitzgerald said that “all the signs are right” for an upturn in investment, “from demographics to improving financial infrastructure and government commitment to diversification”.

Invest AD was created as the Abu Dhabi Investment Company in 1977 to invest on behalf of the emirate’s government. It is now offers investment banking services and investment funds to international and regional clients.
