Multilateral bank issues record euro issuance with largest Swedish deal so far this year.

The European Investment Bank (EIB) has priced a SEK750mn (US$115mn) climate awareness bond, its largest SEK-denominated deal so far this year.

The seven-year paper was placed with one Scandinavian investor, the proceeds being used to support the EIB’s lending for renewable energy projects.

Handelsbanken Capital Markets was sole lead manager for the transaction.

This deal follows the EIB’s €650mn (US$847mn) climate awareness bond issued earlier in the month, the largest such bond ever placed in the euro-denominated market.
