New Renaissance Asset Management CEO joins from HSBC.

Renaissance Asset Management (RAM), which focuses on emerging Europe, Russia and Africa, has appointed Barbara Rupf Bee as its chief executive.

Rupf Bee joins the firm, which has US$2.8bn under management, from HSBC Global Asset Management, where she has been global head of institutional sales since 2007.

Her other senior roles at the bank included a stint as chief executive of its alternative investments business. She has also worked for JP Morgan.

RAM has also named Plamen Monovski as its new president, a position he will hold alongside his current responsibilities as chief investment officer.

These appointments follow RAM’s announcement in January that fund managers Robert Holmes and Aziz Anan have joined the firm following the acquisition of two funds from Griffin Capital Management.
