New investment banking head for RenCap

Russian bank hires former Troika Dialog MD Zoltan Szalai.

Russian investment bank Renaissance Capital has hired Zoltan Szalai as managing director and head of its financial institutions group for investment banking.

In his new role, Szalai will oversee the division’s equity and debt capital markets work as well as mergers and acquisitions advice for companies in the financial sector across Russia, Eastern Europe, Central Asia and Africa.

Szalai was previously managing director for investment banking at Troika Dialog, where he led two equity offerings for Bank Vozrozhdenie, the preference share offerings for URSA Bank and the sale of Investsberbank to OTP Bank.

He has also worked at ING Barings and Credit Suisse First Boston in Moscow and London.
