Jeffries hires cleantech analyst

Investment bank names Gerard Reid senior researcher.

Investment bank Jefferies has hired Gerard Reid as a managing director and senior equity research analyst covering the clean technology sector.

Based in the bank’s London office, Reid takes its global clean technology equity research group to 11 people. His new colleagues include New York-based senior analysts Jesse Pichel, who focuses on solar power, wind, geothermal, LEDs and smart grid companies, and Laurence Alexander, who specialises in industrial biotech, biofuels and water companies.

Reid joins Jeffries from New York-based Ardour Capital Investments International, where he was European head. His previous roles include managing director at Oikovest and head of research and senior partner at First Berlin F.S.B.
