Bank launches third emerging market branch in a year.

Heritage Capital, a London-based merchant bank, has opened an office in Turkey.

Its Istanbul office will act as a liaison between the bank's Heritage Capital International arm and Turkish corporate and financial institution clients. The team will be led by Zeynep Eksioglu Topel, formerly a director of emerging markets fixed income sales at ING.

Joseph Dryer, chief executive of Heritage Capital, said: “The resilience of the Turkish economy and fiscal discipline of the government, relative to many of its Western peers, makes Turkey a compelling investment case and an excellent fit with our
international growth strategy.”

The bank, part of Swiss private bank Banque Heritage, has already opened two new offices in emerging markets during the past year, with branches in Brazil and Singapore.
