BNY Mellon has promoted Jonathan Bowler to the senior management team of its derivatives business.

Bowler is now business manager for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA) for the bank’s Derivatives360 initiative, an investment service that helps clients make and manage derivatives transactions. He will also cover Asia-Pacific in his new role.

Bowler steps up from head of business strategy and development within the bank’s EMEA asset servicing management team. Before that he headed the asset management client services and product management team for ABN AMRO Mellon, before BNY’s merger with Mellon Financial in 2007.

He has also held senior roles at Goldman Sachs Futures, SBC Warburg and Cargill Investor Services.

Patrick Tadie, Derivatives360’s global business head, said he sees a range of derivatives opportunities emerging and this is one of several appointments to its global team to help expand the business.
