Investment banking head joins from Standard Bank.

Investment bank Troika Dialog has appointed Rob Leith as its global head of investment banking and global markets.

Leith joins from Standard Bank and starts his new position in January. He will develop the bank’s equities, fixed income, derivatives and structured products operations.

He spent 20 years at Standard Bank, where until recently he was group head of strategic expansion and chief executive of global corporate and investment banking.

Earlier this year, Standard Bank agreed to sell its 36.4% share in Troika Dialog to Sberbank. The deal, according to Leith, creates a pipeline of opportunities for the Moscow-based investment bank.

This is the latest in a series of senior appointments as Troika prepares to become part of Sberbank. These have included James Corrigan and David Walker being named managing directors of investment banking and Todd Berman becoming co-head of investment banking.
