Turkish bank’s chair Suzan Sabanci Dincer appoints three new non-executives.

Turkey’s Akbank has appointed three new members to its international advisory board, a non-executive body that advises the bank’s board on world affairs.

The new board members are Josef Ackermann, chairman of Zurich Insurance Group and former chairman of Deutsche Bank; Gao Jian, vice-governor of the China Development Bank; and Michael Klein, managing partner of M. Klein and Company and former chairman of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group.

Announcing the new appointments, Akbank’s chairman and executive board member, Suzan Sabanci Dincer, said the individuals’ “exceptionally rich knowledge of the world economy, vast international experience and global vision will be very valuable for Akbank and will help strengthen and reflect our bank’s growing international status”.
