David Bickerton has been elected regional managing partner of Clifford Chance in the UK and the Middle East. Bickerton takes over from Jeremy Sandelson, who has been voted global head of the firm's litigation practice.
Bickerton joined the firm in 1987, became a partner in 1997, and heads the London capital markets practice.
Clifford Chance's London office has over 1,700 employees, including 190 partners. The Middle East offices, comprising Dubai and Abu Dhabi, have 130 employees including 17 partners.
