Board changes at UBA

New chief executive for pan-African institution.

United Bank for Africa has announced several changes to its board, including the appointment of Phillips Oduoza as group chief executive designate.

Oduoza has more than 22 years of experience in the sector. He was previously the bank’s deputy managing director overseeing its operations in the south of the continent. He will take his new role in August 1. Until then he’ll work alongside current chief executive Tony Elumelu.

The Nigeria-based bank has made several other changes to its board, including the appointments of Femi Olaloku as executive director and group chief operating officer; Kennedy Uzoka as executive director for Nigeria South; and Ifeatu Onejeme as executive director with responsibility for treasury, corporate and investment banking.
