Law firm appoints Sandeep Katwala as regional managing partner.

Law firm Linklaters has appointed Sandeep Katwala as regional managing partner of its emerging Europe, Middle East and Africa practice. Katwala succeeds Stuart Salt, who was appointed Asia managing partner earlier this year.

Katwala has been a partner at Linklaters since 2000 and head of the firm’s dedicated India practice for the past six years. In his new role, which he started on May 1, he will continue to head up the firm’s India practice and to work closely with many of its India-related clients.

“The CEE, Middle East, Russia/CIS and Africa are important and dynamic markets,” said Simon Davies, Linklaters managing partner. “Furthermore, we are seeing increasing cross-border activity between the EEMEA region and Asia, including India. Sandeep’s broad experience in Asia, including his success in building our India practice, make him ideally suited to this key leadership role.”
