White & Case hires new partners

Three appointments and a promotion in London.

Law firm White & Case has reinforced its cross-border M&A expertise by recruiting David Crook.

Crook joins from Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer where he was a partner for 10 years working on deals in countries including Turkey and Russia.

Crook is the third new hire at the firm’s London office in seven days after senior acquisition and bank finance partners Jacqueline Evans and Lee Cullinane joined from Mayer Brown.

These new recruits start as partner Rob Mathews takes over as head of the banking and capital markets team for West Europe, the Middle East and Africa (WEMEA). White & Case’s head of WEMEA M&A, Francois Leloup, says the new appointments and Mathews’ promotion are part of the firm’s plans to make its London office an international centre for cross-border deals.
